ECDP Application — 2026 Intake
Open to unemployed graduates at NQF Level 6 and above with a technology-driven business concept. Applications are assessed on the innovation and feasibility of the business concept, entrepreneurial motivation and commitment, academic background and relevant experience, and team composition (where applicable). The 2026 intake targets 250 participants across two cohorts. The programme is fully funded — no application or participation fee applies.
NVC1 Incubation Residency Application
Open to ECDP graduates who have completed the Graduation Pitch Day (priority pathway) and, by competitive application, to external applicants with a validated business concept and evidence of early market traction. The selection panel assesses innovation, technical feasibility, founding team capability, and potential for social and economic impact.
Short Course & CPD Enquiry
For professionals, organisations, and individuals seeking short courses in capability development outside the ECDP pipeline, submit an enquiry outlining your specific development needs and objectives for a tailored programme recommendation from the Crucible team.
Mentor & Adviser Network
Experienced entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and academics are invited to join the Wits Crucible Mentor Network.
Mentors are matched with ECDP participants and incubation residents according to sector expertise, venture stage, and specific development needs. The Mentor Network is a key differentiator of the Crucible’s programme quality —incubation residents have access to structured mentorship from practitioners with lived venture-building experience.
Mentor Commitment
- Minimum: two hours per month with an assigned mentee — ECDP participant or incubation resident
- Optional: guest lectures, pitch day judging, workshop facilitation, and investor introductions
- Recognition: listed in the Crucible Mentor Directory; invited to exclusive ecosystem events and Demo Days
Corporate Partnerships
Corporate organisations, development finance institutions, and foundations are invited to explore structured partnership opportunities with the Wits Crucible.
Partnership models include programme co-sponsorship; Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) programme design and delivery; joint research initiatives; talent pipeline development; and membership of the Strategic Corporate Alliance Programme (SCAP). BBBEE recognition applies to qualifying ESD and skills development investments.

Volunteer
